Kostas , is an agronomist , he has study applied physics and economy also , he is an olive oil expert. With his head office in Kalamata and by cooperating with international organizations, he has gained a lot of experience on issues regarding the quality and tasting and production of olive oil. Since 2014 he has been one of the judges and panel leader in the top olive oil tasting competitions around the world . He teaches olive oil sensory analysis, production and safety in NY , London and in San Francisco in collaboration with OLIVE OIL TIMES EDUCATION LAB and he is collaborating with OLIO NUOVO DAYS in Paris . One significant time in his career came, when he received a thank-you letter from the former Prime Minister Georgios Papandreou, for his contribution to the development and promotion of quality Greek products worldwide. He is a columnist for many magazines in his field.
Emmanuil , for the last 20 years, is working in the olive oil sector as a professional in quality olive oil extraction, innovation, and international marketing. Trained by IOC instructors, he is a member of a certified panel of tasters in a sensory evaluation laboratory, and in addition, he is invited as an experienced judge in International Olive Oil Competitions. Being a certified adult’s instructor and due to his extended knowledge of olive oil-related subjects, he develops training courses in Greece and abroad. In parallel with the above, for the last ten years, he is a VP of the Cretan Exporters Association.
Tammy Karambelas is a Greek-Australian accredited EVOO taster currently in charge of exports and marketing for Olympian Green International ,Product Specialist and Product Development Manager at Sitia Olive Oil S.A. – “LaSitia”. Tammy has vast experience in exports having worked in this sector for over 20 years. After earning a Bachelor of Applied Science in Mathematics and Computer Science from Swinburne University of Technology in Adelaide, she pursued a Bachelor of Economics in Business Administration from the Hellenic Open University and, more recently, a Certification of Training in Olive Oil Tasting from Organizzazione Nazionale Assaggiatori Olio di Oliva (ONAOO, Italy) and the IOC’s University course on the Organoleptic Assessment of Olive Oil at the University of Jaen (Spain).
Eleftheria is an Agronomist , Panel Supervisor at the Laboratory of Organoleptic Assessment of the Agriculture Cooperative of Rethymno "ENOSI A.C.R." – Expert olive oil judge in Greek and international competitions with a lot of experience on the olive oil evaluation , works for more than 10 years now on educating people on the olive oil quality .
Panorea is a geologist with a postgraduate specialization in Applied geography and Spatial Planning and she is working as operation and finance manager in MB ELEON. She is also an MBA candidate. She has approached the world of olive oil and is actively involved in everything that has to do with it, starting from the cultivation to the sales, in this domain she has attended courses in olive growing and organoleptic evaluation of olive oil while she is actively involved in the field of marketing and product disposal.
Dr. KIKI ZINOVIADOU
Kiki is an Assistant Professor at Perrotis College in the Food Science and Technology pathway. She earned her PhD from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki as a fellow of the Ministry of Education, her MSc. in Product and Ingredient Functionality from Wageningen University in the Netherlands after being awarded a scholarship from NUFFIC (Netherlands Organisation for International Cooperation in Higher Education), and her BSc in Food Science from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. She has attended various seminars concerning the sensory evaluation of olive oil and is a member of the National Table Olive Taste Panel. She is an international judge in various olive oil competitions.
Anna is an agronomist olive oil expert , collaborator of one of the most important cooperatives of Laconia , kasel , she is responsible of the quality control department of the cooperative . She is an accredit olive oil sommelier and collaborates with the cooperatives of Laconia on the olive oil production .
Maria is an agronomist based in Kalamata. She holds, a Bachelor's degree in Agricultural Science from the University of Athens and a MSc in Environmental design of cities and a buildings from the Hellenic Open University. She is a member of the Kalamata Olive Oil Tasting Panel of the University of Peloponnese and certificated as an Olive oil taser from the University of Jaén in Spain. She is also a PhD candidate in the program of the treatment of anthracnose of the olive tree, University of Peloponnese.
What are the best brands of olive oil in Greece?
This question is very simple yet the answer is much more complicated.
Is the best brand in Greece the one that has won the most international competitions?
Are these the ones who got the highest scores?
A company that has more means that participates in more international competitions with multiple simples will be better than a small producer who produces quality olive oil but in small quantities .
To answer these simple questions we have decided to organize a competition in Greece,
to exclusively reserve Greek olive oils
that will be judged by the best juries in Greece.
The national competition is very important because it will finally allow you to know who are the best brands of olive oil in Greece,
the same competition will be organized in Italy, Spain, Portugal and all the winners will be gathered on the same websites,
so that any customer can directly find the winners and have access to your information, your history and of course your contact .
To participate its very simple you just have to send us two samples of your bottles as well as an analysis report.
In order for this competition to be open to all olive oil producers in Greece we have decided to make it as affordable as possible.
Once your oil has been judged we will organize a prize giving ceremony to reward all the winners, we will also invite as many journalists as possible and we will be numerous publications to advertise your brand

This edition takes place in Greece.
This competition is open only for Greek producers
anf for the 2021 / 2022 campaign, monovarietal and blend olive oils are allowed.
